Captain Von L. Hill (Ret.) is an emerging nationally recognized school safety consultant, public safety leader, and instructor with more than 33 years of experience in law enforcement, school safety, emergency management, leadership development, and community partnership building. Throughout his distinguished career, Captain Hill served in a variety of operational and leadership roles, including School Resource Officer, D.A.R.E. Officer, Investigator, Training Officer, Law Enforcement Supervisor, and Division Chief. He retired from the Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office after leading School Safety, Judicial, and Administrative Operations, where he oversaw School Resource Officer programs, court security, emergency planning, threat assessment initiatives, records management, and public safety operations. Captain Hill has dedicated much of his career to strengthening the relationship between schools, law enforcement, families, and communities. His work has focused on developing sustainable school safety frameworks that emphasize prevention, preparedness, relationship-building, and collaborative problem-solving. He has played a key role in advancing School-Law Enforcement Partnerships (S-LEPs), Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) practices, crisis planning, school safety audits, and multidisciplinary response systems throughout Virginia. As a certified instructor through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), Captain Hill has trained thousands of school administrators, law enforcement officers, School Resource Officers, School Security Officers, threat assessment teams, and public safety professionals. He serves as a presenter and curriculum developer for statewide and regional training programs covering school safety leadership, threat assessment, crisis response, school law, emergency operations planning, and effective school-community partnerships. Captain Hill is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Executive Strategies, LLC, a consulting and training organization dedicated to helping educational institutions, public safety agencies, and community organizations create safer, stronger, and more resilient environments. Through Executive Strategies, he provides strategic planning, leadership development, policy consultation, safety assessments, training programs, and organizational improvement services across the nation. Known for his practical approach, engaging presentation style, and commitment to servant leadership, Captain Hill combines decades of real-world experience with evidence-informed practices to help organizations move beyond reactive responses and build cultures of safety, trust, and collaboration.
