About me
As one of the leaders of Timberlake Smith's Education Law practice, Mandi’s practice focuses on advising and representing various school boards and regional educational programs in both internal and external matters. Her practice includes the Local Government practice area, where her experience extends to other local government entities, such as law enforcement agencies, regional entities, and public service authorities. After earning a B.S. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1997, Mandi received a J.D. magna cum laude from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2004. During law school, she clerked in the 25th Judicial Circuit of Virginia for The Honorable George E. Honts, III. She is a member of the Order of the Coif, a national scholastic honor society in law. In addition to practicing law, she has taught several law courses, including constitutional law, business law, and education law, to undergraduate students at Mary Baldwin University. Mandi has been recognized by her peers as a leading Education Law and Employment Law practitioner by her inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America ® (2025).
