About me
Daniel serves as the K-12 Crisis Management Program Coordinator within the Division of Public Safety Training (PST) and Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety (VCSCS). In this role, he provides training, resources, technical assistance, and policy direction to government entities, school leaders, emergency managers, and law enforcement. His work focuses on developing effective crisis planning and resilient emergency response frameworks to ensure the safety of K-12 schools across the Commonwealth.
Daniel’s professional background spans multiple levels of public safety and security operations. He began his career in law enforcement as a Federal Police Officer for the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), specializing in physical security and Dignitary Protection for the Justices. Following his federal service, he served as a Senior Park Ranger for Prince William County, overseeing patrol operations and security for a 4,400-acre park system. Subsequently, Daniel served as the Deputy Chief / Assistant Director of Security Services and Risk Management at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA), where he provided strategic leadership to a security team of over 200 personnel.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (Criminology concentration) with a minor in U.S. National Security Studies from Christopher Newport University (CNU), where he was also a member of the Captains football team.
